Hello, friends! I’m Brittany and I am based in Atlanta. I have narrated over 60 audiobooks and I am working on creating some samples which showcase some specific genres and dialects. I don’t have them in my current repertoire, so I was wondering…how have you gone about creating samples for yourself? Did you ask someone to write them for you? Use a book that is public domain? I don’t want to choose something another narrator has already performed, so I’m just reaching out to see if anybody has creative ideas for approaching this. Thanks for your help! Brittany

    Hi Brittany,
It’s actually ok to find something that’s already been recorded as a demo sample, as long as it’s not a really famous or well-known title.

Great topic though – looking forward to hearing others’ thoughts on this.
